Geiranger Explorer - 45min
Explore the iconic fjord and glacier landscapes from above
We depart directly from Geiranger and climb out of the famous Geirangerfjord, surrounded by waterfalls left, right, and centre – and mountain farms where no one would believe people could live. As we wind our way out the fjord, we take a closer look at Åkerneset, the unstable mountainside that inspired Norway’s disaster movie “The Wave”.
From here, we head south over Hellesylt and the Langedalen valley towards Stryn, following the winding river through the valley before crossing the mountains towards Skålatårnet, Loen Skylift and the famous Ramnefjellet – the mountain responsible for tsunamis in 1905 and 1936. Then, it’s time for some real glacier views.
Flying over the turquoise waters of Lovatnet, we continue into Kjenndalen valley and circle Lodalskåpa, the highest peak in the area at 2,083 meters. Turning northwards, we head back towards Geiranger, passing Stryn Summer Ski Centre and the ancient tunnels of Strynefjellet. From the Dalsnibba viewpoint, Geiranger comes back into view, nestled deep inside the fjord, surrounded by majestic peaks.
We descend calmly down the valley and glide into Geirangerfjord for landing. On this scenic adventure, you’ll see fjords, rivers, glacier arms, ancient farms, rockslides past and future, and glacier-blue waters – all in a single unforgettable tour. Welcome aboard!
